My 2nd Target Beauty Box ~ What's Inside?

To see what I got in my 1st Target Beauty Box, click here.

I've got to tell you, I'm really pleased with this one, but the first one was $2 cheaper.

For $7 plus shipping, I got 3 beauty type deluxe sample sized products and 2 full sized products.

Let's look at the box/ packaging:

It's the same outer packaging as the last box; with the Target logo in red and black. This is a sleeve that slides right off and you have a plain white box. I don't mind the white box - it can be used for Christmas gifts!

When you open the box, there's that same Hello Beautiful card that I loved so much in the last one.
I'm not going to lie to you, I did not open that card and read what was inside. If I did, I don't remember a thing that it said - pregnancy brain!!

After removing the card, I see all my beauty items:
Sorry for the bad pics! And that you have to see my toes.

Immediately I was so happy to see the Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. I cannot tell you how many times I tried to find that in a drugstore and couldn't. I was just about to break down and order it online. So glad I didn't! I've since used these products and love, love, love this eye pencil!!
I've seen a lot of ladies on YouTube use it as a base and also to brighten or intensify their eye shadow color. I've used it for both, and this box was worth every penny because of it!

Next, I pulled out the lippie - because I'm addicted!!

And how happy am I?! I love nude lip colors! This is the L'Oreal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche in Nude Ballet. It's a long name, but the formula is great and I'm in love. I've worn this several times, usually with a heavier, darker eye, and can't get enough!! Here is my review of the same formula lipstick in a different color: L'Oreal Paris Lippie Review

The next item I tried is the L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray.

The claims on the spray are: Extra Strong Hold Hairspray that disappears at the stroke of a brush. I'm a little confused by this. I'm assuming they mean the crispy, hairspray texture disappears and it doesn't leave any kind of white residue if your hair is brushed through.

I did use it and it did hold. I am not 100% sold on this yet, but it's hairspray and I'll, at the very least, use it until it's all gone.

Now on to a hair product I love:
This is the Fekkai (no idea how to pronounce that) Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo.
It is exactly what it claims to be - a dry shampoo. But the smell, oh the scent of it, I love! And it works great too! I may have to switch from my holy grail Batiste to this.

Lastly, I pulled out the Laneige BB Cushion:
The card states this is sold exclusively at Target. If that is the case, it was a good idea putting it in the box. Otherwise, I'd have had no idea.

The cushion they show in the picture is obviously larger than the sample we get, but I bet it feels similar to handling a beauty blender type of sponge.

They give us 1 cushion and 3 skin tone colors to choose from:
I am the lightest shade. I did use this. It is very much light coverage. I was expecting this but maybe not expecting it to be so watery.

The color match was spot on. I wonder if I'm just that color or does it kind of match all light skin tones that well? Let me know if you have it or have used it.

Lastly, here are the claims:

Cool and Hydrate
Prevents Shine
Perfects Long Lasting Coverage

I only used it one day and have not decided it the claims are correct. But I will update if I continue to use this. And please, let me know what you gals think of this product!!

Overall, I am so please with this Target Beauty Box and can't wait to see what they do in the Spring!

ChapStick Hydration Lock ~ Dual Ended ~ Review

A few weeks ago I received a small package in the mail from Birchbox. I opened it because I'd completely forgotten why I'd be getting an extra package from them. I found 2 dual ended ChapStick with Hydration Lock to try out and review.

The first one I tried was the Day/ Night version.

I really like that the Day side has SPF 12. It will help protect my lips and hopefully keep them from looking dry and old or cracked.

I did use this several times at night and it's not bad. I always sleep with some sort of ChapStick on my lips just because I don't like dry lips even while I sleep. I didn't notice a lot of caking or drying out while I slept. This will definitely come in handy for traveling since I will keep it in my purse (for the SPF) and can just not worry about packing a night time lip balm anymore!

I keep the Moisture/ Renew ChapStick at work and use it regularly throughout my work day. I have noticed that the Renew side doesn't keep my lips as moisturized as long as the other end. Obviously, the Moisturizing side does exactly that. I don't feel the need to reapply as often with this end.

Now, as far as having dual ended ChapSticks, the Day/ Night one will be handier to have in my purse. The Moisture/ Renew side, I'm not so sure about. Yes, it's nice to have at my desk, but I find myself using the Moisture end way more than the Renew end. Maybe once I've used that side all up, I can switch over to the Renew end.

Have you tried these ChapSticks? If so, what are your thoughts on them? I'd love to hear which one you use the most.

Note: I received these items from Birchbox for review purposes.

The Dumbest Thing I've Ever Done

It's as bad as you think. It's awful, horrible, dumb.

Before I tell you about the dumbest thing I've ever done, let me tell you a little about myself:

I am a geek, a nerd, a lover of the odd.

I am more country than I'd like to admit.

I was raised in one of those small towns where everyone knew everyone's business (and never let you forget it!).

I am addicted to chocolate - or at least I was until I got pregnant. No matter what I do, I can't get this kid to make me crave chocolate, it's a scary thing!

I love Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings. I mean, I love them.

I love to read. I'm a big fan of Stephen King but the older I get, the less I can handle the scary stories.

I collect gift bags. Not even to reuse! I just collect them...I'm a bag lady.

I have what some people tell me is obsessive compulsive disorder. I will read this very blog post 27 times before I hit the Publish button.

In a nutshell, I am me. And that's all I can honestly be (and apparently I'm a poet and didn't know it).

So what is the dumbest thing I've ever done? I tried to be someone I'm not.

I once tried to like Nascar just to fit in with people. Nascar! Now if that's your thing, more power to you, but it isn't for me. I'm lucky if I make through the warm up laps before I start snoring.

One time, I dressed in clothes that were uncomfortable to go hang out with people who made me feel uncomfortable.

I've even been mean to someone who was very dear to me, just to fit in with people who didn't even like me. (Note: This was in elementary school, but it doesn't make it less awful.)

The worst thing you can do is try to be someone you are not. Because, usually, no matter how hard you try, the real you will come out. Those "friends" who are too cool to binge watch Star Wars probably won't like you much when they walk into your Star Wars themed living room.

So be who you are, embrace all the quirky, different things about yourself! And eventually you will find others who enjoy the same things as you and are way more fun to hang out with anyway.

I Don't Get Fall

I don't mean that I don't understand it - I mean, where I live, I don't get a Fall Season. It sucks, I know. But that doesn't mean I can't get into the spirit, right?!

At every store I go to, be it a grocery store, convenience store, or craft store, all things pumpkins and spice are proudly displayed. I can buy a Pumpkin Spice flavored cookie (because as hot as it is still, I'm not drinking any hot beverages for months yet) or Pumpkin Spice scented sachets. Of course, if I use the sachets in my home and really get in the spirit of Fall, I'll need to turn the air conditioner down to about 60 degrees if I get in the mood to snuggle under the covers.

I can get on YouTube (shameless channel plug here) or Pinterest and get hundreds of Fall decorating ideas, and even DIY's. This is one of my favorite parts of Fall, other than football and prime time television.

I certainly wish we had the cooler temps where I live to go along with this bursting Fall spirit, but we do not. So, we're kind of just "faking" Fall with our Pumpkin Spiced everything and orange leafed wreaths (a whole other post, but why do we decorate our homes with dead leaves? I mean, I do it - video coming Friday! - but why?)

When we do finally get to pull out long sleeves, jeans, and boots, everyone else is celebrating Winter. We've completely bypassed Fall; we went straight into the coldest season around, and it's still sometimes hit or miss. By that, I mean, we get cooler temps and get to look cute with our jeans tucked into socks, tucked into boots OR we wear shorts and flip-flops until one day we wake up to an ice covered driveway. And occasionally, we get a great spring! That really makes me happy, when we have a spring and don't go from frozen to melting in a matter of days.

Even with the warm weather, sweating in October, and all the iced coffee I consume, I'm in the Fall spirit! I even cooked a crock pot full of vegetable soup yesterday (that was too hot to eat because it made my nose run and made me sweat, but man will it be good thawed and re-heated sometime in January or February!) I'm even going to decorate my home with some orange (dead) leaves and twigs and things.

But do you know what my #1 favorite thing about Fall is? That in a few months, it will be Christmas! And that is my favorite season of all! You think I'm excited about all things Pumpkin Spice, wait until I break out the Cinnamon scented everything!

Happy Fall Y'all!
